Zoo Nouveau Peacock Panel

I have finished the Peacock panel for the Zoo Nouveau project. I am a bit frustrated with the instructions. There are several pieces in the pattern that are not shown in the layout. I have no idea where they are supposed to go or what colors they should be. Also, the instructions say to use gold paint on the 'garlic' shapes for added dimension. What paint? How do I do that? Not enough information provided.  I didn't do the ruffle that was included in the instructions, because it just said put in a ruffle. How do I do that? What fabric?
It isn't exactly the size that is in the directions, but it is pretty close.

Zoo Nouveau Progress

Here are some pics of my progress on Zoo Nouveau.
Feathers have been appliqued. Added the cording and additional feather 'eyes.'

I couldn't find an appropriate sized eyelash yarn. I found this one at Michael's.

Sorry for the blurry pic. This is Isaac Mizrahi yarn. I separated the black yarn from the pretty blue/purple/violet strand.

I had to change the placement of the bird and feathers. I had a huge gap, so I improvised.

Zoo Nouveau

I have a couple BOM projects to share. I bought the starter kit for the Zoo Nouveau project that the Quilt Show is offering this summer. I chose a color palette that I know will work in my home. Here is the base for the first part of the project.

I am working on the applique pieces. Lots of peacock feathers. More to come.

I also finished the fifth installment in the Red and Cream BOM from Fig Tree Quilts.

I am loving these blocks. Ten blocks done. I hope I can keep up so I will have another Christmas quilt for next year.

Star Crossed Flimsie

Another Fig Tree project. Star Crossed using Strawberry Fields Revisited fabric collection.

I love this fabric collection. Another one to add to my pile waiting to be quilted. I really need to retire.
