Farmer's Wife Flimsy Done

I have finished working on my FW.
I am so glad that I added that narrow turquoise border. I think it really looks finished now. OK, yet another top to add to the pile waiting to be quilted. On the Lucey front, I am having quite a time getting the tension right so that I don't have huge loops on the bottom. I reached my frustration point yesterday and had to walk away. I will be revisiting the manual and the videos today to see what small detail I have overlooked. I'm sure I'll get it right soon. Update on tension: DH and I found a couple really helpful videos online (http://forum.apqs.com/index.php?/topic/32042-jamie-wallen-video-taking-the-stress-out-of-thread-tension/ and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZBNUKsCyxg). I now have good tension. I have also changed my thread to be polyester on both the bottom and the top. I am in heaven. Thanks for all of your suggestions.

I'm linking up with Stitch by Stitch: Anything Goes. See the button on the right side of my blog. I am also linking up to Quilt Story found here.

Thanks for stopping by.

Congratulations on finishing your FW flimsy!! I agree with you - that narrow turquoise border is PERFECT!! I'll have to remember that when I get to finishing up my LHQSQ (Left-Handed Quilter Sampler Quilt) - it might need a narrow red border to look finished - ;))

Regarding Lucey - don't let the tension problems get you down. I don't have a longarm - but from what I have read - tension problems are VERY common. Sorry that I can't help you other than to suggest calling customer service - that's what they DO. Maybe a quick conversation will solve the problem - ;))

great job! love the turquoise border, makes things pop!

good luck with the tension issue, I hate when tension is an issue as it seems to take forever to resolve.

Love your quilt and adding the turquoise border was Brilliant!

re: longarm tension
What brand of longarm do you have? With my first LA, a Tin Lizzie, I tried for 18 months to get the service techs and the manufacturer to repair, then to get the owner to refund my money after it became clear that their machine was never going to hold a correct tension. I threw it away.
Now I have a Gammill and after 18 months of bliss, joy, rapture, not a single broken thread, not a second of tension issues --- I am in longarm heaven.
Moral to the story: it might not be you, you could have a lemon...
Come for a vacation to NM, bring your top, and use mine. Seriously.
