Double 9 Patch Quilt Along

It is time for another fun quilt along from the Fat Quarter Shop. This one is the Double 9 Patch.

I chose Kona solids for this project. I had quite a few in my stash. I only needed to buy more Kona White for the background and a backing fabric.

Here is a single block. I used a dark gray (can't remember the correct color name) for the feature fabric in the center of each block.

They went together pretty quickly.

The top was assembled in a couple afternoons of sewing.

Progress on the long arm:

hmmm I looked and thought I have 16 double nine patch blocks that I found the other day this looks interesting. But then, then, I scrolled down and said OMG I have to do that!! Well something not quite as spectacular as yours, but you've given me inspiration. I have an Old Friends BOM on the frame know and it uses double nine patch blocks. The first time I made the sixteen blocks, well I kinda made them a bit too small. That would be why I have sixteen blocks laying around. Now they have a purpose. Wow!!!

I was in a 9-patch exchange resulting in my possession of over 100 blocks. What is the size of your 9 patches, and the double 9 patch blocks, and finally the size of your finished quilt? Your quilting is magnificent. Thanks for sharing.
