Flea Market Baskets SAL Update

Here is my progress as of February 28, 2022:

I am stitching on 36 ct. evenweave in Antique White using all DMC threads. I have stitched the inner gingham background with DMC 3033. It will now be easy to fill in the rest with 3782 and 3865 to finish the gingham. That will complete the March assignment.

Thanks for stopping by,

Another Small Finish

I finished stitching the first installment of the Bird Crush Club. This is a year-long program designed by Stephanie Webb of Lindy Stitches. This first chart is Steller's Jay.

Stephanie found the cutest frames online that will work perfectly for each of the birds. Unfortunately, I can't afford to frame 12 projects. Since I want all of them to be finished the same, I plan to make them into small pillows and add them to my bird bowl.

Flea Market Baskets SAL

Here is an update on Flea Market Baskets, designed by Lori Holt and sold by the Fat Quarter Shop.

This project is the best of both worlds for me. I am creating a traditional looking quilt pattern with baskets. I have always loved baskets, but have never made a quilt with them. I can get the look without needing to be in my sewing room. I find cross stitch to be a very satisfying and portable art form. The pattern can be ordered here

Fat Quarter Shop has thought of everything. A floss pack and floss keeper set is available and can be ordered here. This is the first time I have used a floss keeper. It is very cute.

I taped the floss color number onto the back of the floss keeper. It will be easy to remove them when I am finished with the project so I can use it again for a different project.

I have finished the January assignment for the Stitch-Along (SAL) which is the center star. I didn't mean to get it done so soon. I had one day available to work on it until the middle of January, so I thought I had better get going on it. This was so easy to stitch. The pattern is very symmetrical which makes it easy to count. I didn't have to do any ripping out.

This is such a cute project. I hope you will join us.

Recent Cross Stitch Finishes

Here are the two most recent cross stitch finishes:

From The Blue Flower, Huckleberry Farm, original design by Jeannine McGowan. I fell in love with this when it came out at the 2020 Market. Of course, that was a terrible time to try to get linen and floss. It took several months searching the sites of many online shops to put this together. I started stitching it on May 9, 2021 and completed it on December 29, 2021.

The second recent finish is Land that I Love designed by Teresa Kogut. This also came out at the 2020 Market. Had to have it. Same story as above. It took quite a while to get the fabric and flosses needed. I personalized it by altering the color of my initials in the alphabet. How nice that my initials are in alphabetical order.

These will be off to the framer when I get back to Kentucky.  I don't want to search around for a framer in a city I am barely familiar with.
