What the heck is Google Reader?

OK, I have ignored my ignorance as long as I can. What is Google Reader? I have no idea whether I read blogs using Google Reader or not. Will I wake up tomorrow morning and find that I can't follow blogs anymore? The only way I have any idea that Google Reader even exists is because people are announcing that they can now be followed on Bloglovin, or something like that. If I am using something that is going to disappear, wouldn't the company let me know about it?

My blog is on Blogspot. I know that is somehow connected with Google, but what does that mean for me?

I will continue to stumble along in my "ignorance is bliss" state of mind and see what happens tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by.

If you are reading your followed blogs with your blogspot list - don't worry as that will still be there. I didn't use google reader either. Some people used that part of Google for their reading - and now they are removing it as 'they claim' not enough were using it. So stay on, keep on, relax.

I'm ignorant about Google Reader, too. I read blogs using my browser's "Bookmarks" feature. If I can do the "Rabbit, rabbit" thingy tomorrow - then I guess I'm OK - we'll see - ;))

I didn't use Google Reader either. Just link though Blogspot or the links on he sidebar of my blog, I'm quite happy linking to blogs using those methods.

Thank you so much. You have put my mind at ease. I am glad to know that I am apparently not using the system that is going to disappear. I am happy that I am connected with people who know more than I do.

You are so funny. We'll see who is first with Rabbit, Rabbit. If neither of us is able to R/R, we'll know that we are seriously out of the loop.

Thank you so much for your response. I am getting the message that I am probably not using Google Reader. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I am really technologically challenged.
