Halo Medallion Progress

I got Halo Medallion loaded on the longarm this weekend. I had two days of quilting. Everything worked out great. Good tension. Lots of ideas from the quilting of Angela Walters on the Quilt Show sample and ideas from Margaret Solomon Gunn from her blog. She quilted a customer quilt that was Halo Medallion. I have taken ideas from both of these wonderful quilters.

You will notice that I am putting the double bubble, or olive in the solid green 1" sashing. I have no ideas for the other 1" or 3/4" sashings. I will not quilt inside the half inch or smaller sashings. Any ideas? Should I just leave them empty? I have done SID on both sides. Is that enough?

The cross-hatching is really hard. I don't have a curved ruler that matches that curve. I am using my Quick Curve Sidekick ruler, but I have to adjust every inch or so. I am concerned that I will really mess up as I will need to complete these in different directions. I do not want to have to turn the quilt to complete the sections.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks so much for commenting on my Halo Medallion. I totally copied from Angela Walters and Margaret Solomon Gunn. Stop by again soon.

Thank you for your comment. It means a lot to me that other quilters appreciate what I have done. I am always hyper-critical of my work.

WOW!! That is absolutely gorgeous - and your quilting is amazing!!

You could do the double bubble or olive in the other 1" sashings for "consistency" - but I'd leave the smaller ones empty. I think the SID on each side should be enough - if they are smaller than the "squares" in the cross-hatch section - or the insides of the largest "feathers" - ;))

Thanks for stopping by, Alison. I appreciate hearing from other quilters. I will post updates this weekend.

Thanks for that suggestion. I agree that I should repeat double bubble someplace else. I have decided that I will also repeat the figure 8 (and or wishbone) in one of the sashings as a repeat of the Delectable Mountains.

Your quilt is just gorgeous. What type of batting did you use?

And I wish I lived closer I would love to have you show me how do that whole procedure from the lovely choices of material to putting it all together and then quilting it. What a wonderful job you have done.

We got a book from our area library but I think I learned more from this post. I am very glad to see such fantastic information being shared freely out there. Help create a new stuff pack for the sims 4 skill cheats . Art & Crafts? Science? Fun tech? Self-care? Happy haunts? They are all possible stuff packs.

The patchwork is incredible but what makes it superlative is your quilting. Fantastic job. Congrats.
